What a great piece of writing, Zin! I've been pondering a superlative to complement 'excellent,' but the best I can do is Most Excellent. You've done awesome research for this, and the quality of your writing is outstanding. Also, I'm a HUGE fan of Brian Cox, and have watched all his programs -- he's way better than that other guy with a sorta French middle name... Two thumbs up! Well done, Sir!
The many proposed Lightning spin-off projects are a glorious collection of what-ifs. The years from 1945 to 1965 really were a golden age of British aircraft design. Such a shame that much of it came to naught through a lack of both money and political will.
I've been looking into your EE TSR2 chase plane topic (yet another catalyst to kit purchase!) and it looks like I may have to add a non-EE Meteor to the Lightning and Canberra.

Thanks Steve,
Most kind of you to say so sir, although I bumble along at a snail's pace!
Kind regards,
Z
An interesting article, thank you Mr Zinzan. I look forward to seeing your EE Lightning build on Youtube.
It is my pleasure!
Kind regards,
Z

Dear Phil,
Thank you for getting in touch again- this seems to have been the case with many post WW2 procurements.
There's more along a similar vein in the future I suspect.
Kind regards,
Z
